Privacy
The short version: we don't want your data. We built this so we wouldn't need it.
What we collect
- Your license key. A short code, issued by Gumroad when you begin a year. We store it to know your subscription is active.
- A count of readings. For the basic tier we count how many readings you've done in the current year, so we can honor the fifty-reading limit. That's a number tied to the key, nothing else.
- Your language preference. Stored in your browser (localStorage), never sent anywhere.
What we don't collect
- No name.
- No email address (Gumroad has yours for the receipt; we don't).
- No account, no profile, no login.
- No cookies.
- No third-party analytics, ad pixels, or tracking scripts.
- No record of your questions.
- No record of your readings after they finish.
- No record of the photos you take of the dice.
Who touches your data on the way through
An honest list of the third parties that see something:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and forwards your requests. Standard web-server logs — IP address, browser type — kept briefly and never joined to your license.
- Anthropic (Claude) generates the reading text. Your question and the three dice results are sent to Claude and the reading comes back. Not retained by us; Anthropic's commercial API does not use inputs for training.
- Google (Gemini) reads the dice from your photo. The image is sent, three symbols come back, the image is discarded. Google's API terms apply.
- Gumroad processes payment and issues your license key. They have your email; we don't. Their privacy policy governs that side.
Photos of the dice
When you take a photo, it goes directly to Google's Gemini vision API through our server, is analyzed, and is not stored. If Gemini fails to read a die, you tap-to-correct the guess — that correction is discarded after the reading is served.
Your rights
You can stop using the app at any time. You can cancel your Gumroad subscription from your Gumroad account. If you want your license key and its counter deleted from our system, email [email protected] and we'll do it within a week.
Changes
If this policy meaningfully changes, we'll update the date below. The whole point of Astroseer is to not accumulate data, so we don't expect to make invasive additions. If we do, we'll say so plainly.
